joy stealer.

This pretty little number is sitting on my desk. It is from Red Letter Words and I got it from the Allume Conference.  And…..I love it. Well it IS my favorite color, green. In my opinion can’t go wrong with green. But more than the color the words speak right into my heart. There are a lot of things I got focus on that could easily steal my joy. Or at times, DO steal my joy. A bad start to a day, a bad attitude, a rude comment, lies can defeat me, unmet expectations, comparisons, the dazed and confused feeling that has been plaguing me lately. ALL these things can get at me. They can get at YOU.
BUT.
When we set our affections on things ABOVE, you know the things that really matter. Well NOTHING can steal our JOY.
NOTHING.

So look around, look into your heart, check your thoughts. What you are setting your affections on? If it’s on the wrong thing, well then you may have found where your JOY went.

  1. I want to be in His abiding joy WHATEVER my circumstances! I’ve struggled with wanting this and trying to live it out and getting back up each time I fail. I know I can never be perfect, but sometimes I let my joy be stolen simply because I feel like I’m never going to get it. :)

  2. See? Your words pack a punch girl! I got the same one in my “swag bag” too, it is on my fireplace mantel, right next to this homemade gourd turned water bottle of Brandon’s. Now THAT ugly thing steals my joy 😉

  3. Oh you have to check out their website. SO MANY good things. What a perfect little reminder for her room!

  4. Yes, ugly gourds would steal my joy too. I like that we got the same one. Together we can set our affections on things above (not on gourds) :)

  5. I understand this. My drive to be perfect can get the best of me too. Thankfully, we aren’t called to walk in perfection but in faith! Thanks for stopping by Deborah!

  6. Thank you Aubrey girl! I was just thinking of this today as I was preparing lunch for my little people… specifically about “peace”. No one can take my peace if they’re not the ones who gave it to me in the first place. What is given by God can’t be taken away…. love your thoughts! Keep living sister… ~ Love from Maine, Amy

  8. 请教一个文献中一句话的理解问题。有这么几句话“the mass outflow increased by a faotcr of 6 between two observations separated by 18 months”和“Other stars showed changes in MLR by a faotcr of 1.5 or less.”请问这其中的“a faotcr of X”该怎么理解?是不是表示新结果是在原有结果前面乘以x而得到?
