Hiding His Word.

We have been pressing on in memorizing a verse a month as a family. We have gotten into the routine of making some kind of project out of it and then hanging it on the kitchen door where it is most visible as we go in and out. I’ve been surprised how well the kids are remembering the verses, even the past months. This month we chose John 3:16 in light of Easter. I think it’s so cute and funny to hear big words like “perish” and “eternal life” come out of little mouths.

How do you hide His Word in your little ones?

I'm a wife to 1 amazing husband. A mom to 1 little dude and 2 girlie girls. A follower of the ONE who saved me. A daughter to 2 wonderful people. A sister to 1. A friend to many. A runner because that's what I do to keep from not going crazy. And the CEO of this little part of the world we call home.

  1. We used this verse as our December/January verse (how much sense does that make? Not much…) and Eden will say “will not perish…everlasting and life” instead of “will not perish BUT HAVE everlasting life”. Hate to be picky here, but the “but have” is kind of important 😉

  2. I used to have my 11 year old “test” me while I was trying to memorize scripture. He’s a stickler on every single word and I’d end up having to say it over and over so many times that he’d have them all memorized way before me. We haven’t done that in awhile but I think I’ll start again. I wanted to do Sermon on the Mount with Anne Voskamp but I never got started. Maybe this week, I’ll print out the minibook. It’s so neat you do it as a family. Kids quoting scripture and praying is about the cutest thing ever!

  3. Yeah, I think I need you little dude to come over and quiz me. That’s a good deal!
