A legacy

I’ve been thinking a lot about the legacy of Ocean City summer project, which is where we are spending our summer as a family, and how awesome it is. It’s hard to really get it if you haven’t experienced it yourself but I want to do my best to explain it so you all further get a picture of what we are doing here. Since 1967 100+ college students have come “to the shore” for the summer to grow in their own faith and to share the Gospel. Literally each year thousands of people hear the Gospel and hundreds come to know Him. A vacation to the beach changed their life forever through the boldness of a college student and of course God! Just think how many people are affected by those who made a decision for Jesus when they go back home and share with their family, friends and coworkers. Or those who eventually come to know Jesus but it all started when they first heard the Gospel on the New Jersey boardwalk. Not only are vacationers and Jersey locals lives changed forever but the students who chose to give their summer up to God walk way with a life that will never be the same. More often than not Ocean City is the place where God meets students in an authentic way and radically changes their heart to never be the same. I know this is true for me. Countless times I have heard others say Ocean City summer project is where I learned what a surrendered life is, where God called me into full time ministry, where I gained an eternal perspective etc.

There is an amazing spiritual legacy here that is hard to fully grasp but it is real and God continues to move here in peoples lives. I am so thankful to have first row seats this summer!
